Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of TradeBench. By creating an account, you agree to these terms. We've written them in plain language so you know exactly what you're agreeing to.

Last updated: March 2026

The basics

TradeBench is a private, trust-based platform for trade and construction businesses. It's operated by Powerplay Systems, based in Ontario, Canada. When we say “TradeBench,” “we,” or “us,” we mean Powerplay Systems. When we say “you,” we mean you and the business you represent.

You must be at least 18 years old and authorized to act on behalf of the business you register. One account per business. You're responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.

Platform rules

TradeBench works because people use it honestly. By using the platform, you agree to:

  • Maintain accurate business information on your profile
  • Only confirm connections with businesses you’ve actually worked with
  • Submit honest, good-faith skill ratings based on real experience
  • Keep quotes genuine — don’t submit quotes you can’t honor
  • Respect the privacy of other users’ information
  • Use the platform for legitimate trade and construction business purposes

What you can't do

The following will result in warnings, suspension, or permanent removal from the platform:

  • Creating fake profiles or misrepresenting your business
  • Submitting false ratings or manipulating skill scores
  • Confirming connections with businesses you haven’t worked with
  • Scraping, harvesting, or copying data from the platform
  • Using the platform to spam, harass, or solicit outside services
  • Sharing login credentials or allowing unauthorized access to your account
  • Circumventing trust paths or visibility restrictions
  • Submitting quotes with no intention of honoring them

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules, at our discretion and without prior notice if the violation is severe.

Your content and data

You own your content

Business profiles, quotes, notes, and any other content you create belong to you. We don’t claim ownership of your data.

You grant us a license to operate

By using TradeBench, you grant us a limited license to display, process, and transmit your content as needed to run the platform — for example, showing your profile to connections or delivering your quotes to opportunity owners.

You can take it with you

You can request a full export of your data at any time. If you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days.

Payments and subscriptions

TradeBench offers a free Standard tier and a paid Pro tier. Pro subscriptions are billed monthly or annually and renew automatically until cancelled.

You can cancel your Pro subscription at any time. When you cancel, you keep Pro access until the end of your current billing period. We don't offer refunds for partial billing periods.

We may change pricing with 30 days' notice. Price changes take effect at the start of your next billing cycle, not mid-cycle. If you don't agree with the new pricing, you can cancel before it takes effect.

Promotional pricing (including Founding Member rates and “Bring 3, Get Pro Free” offers) is subject to the specific terms disclosed at the time of the offer.

Disclaimers and limitations

Platform is provided “as is”
  • TradeBench is a platform for connecting trade businesses. We don’t guarantee the quality, reliability, or performance of any business on the platform.
  • We don’t verify the accuracy of business profiles, certifications, or insurance claims. It’s your responsibility to confirm qualifications before hiring.
  • Trust paths and skill ratings are informational tools — not endorsements or warranties.
  • We’re not a party to any agreement, contract, or arrangement made between businesses through the platform.
Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Ontario law, Powerplay Systems' total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to your use of TradeBench is limited to the total amount you paid us in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim.

If you're on the free Standard tier, this means our maximum liability to you is $0.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages, including but not limited to lost profits, lost revenue, lost business opportunities, or damages resulting from hiring decisions made through the platform.

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Powerplay Systems, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, losses, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the platform, your violation of these terms, or any dispute between you and another business on TradeBench.

Termination

You can close your account at any time through your account settings. We'll remove your personal data within 30 days.

We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these terms, engage in prohibited conduct, or if we reasonably believe your continued use of the platform poses a risk to other users or the integrity of the network.

Upon termination, your right to use TradeBench ends immediately. Sections on limitation of liability, indemnification, and governing law survive termination.

Dispute resolution

If a dispute arises, we encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve it directly. If we can't reach a resolution, either party may pursue mediation before initiating legal proceedings.

Any legal claims must be brought within one year of the event giving rise to the claim.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Any legal proceedings will be brought in the courts of Ontario, Canada. Both parties consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we'll notify you through the platform or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Continued use of TradeBench after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. The “last updated” date at the top always reflects the current version.
